East-West Center Dean Explores Collaborative Opportunities with University of Colombo

Ann Hartman, Director and Dean of Professional Development and Education at the East-West Center (EWC), Hawaii, visited the University of Colombo on 22 August 2025. During her visit, she met with Vice Chancellor Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake to discuss potential avenues for collaboration in research and teaching. Both institutions identified shared interests in key areas such as geopolitics, health, and the environment, paving the way for future academic partnerships. The meeting was also attended by Dr Pavithra Jayawardena, Head of the Department of International Relations, and Professor Chaminda Padmakumara. To symbolise goodwill and strengthen ties between the two institutions, books and tokens of appreciation were exchanged.
