Japanese Delegation Explores Collaboration for Promoting Sri Lankan Ayurveda in Japan

A delegation from Japan paid a courtesy visit to the University of Colombo and engaged in a discussion with the Vice Chancellor, Senior Professor (Chair) H.D. Karunaratne, on the 19th of February, 2024. The delegates included Rev. Zuiko Tokunaga, the Chairman of the Japan Ayurveda and Traditional Medicine Association, and Ms. Shoko Umehara, the Managing Director of Shanthi Lanka Ayurveda Japan (Pvt.) Ltd. Other participants included Professor P. K. Perera, the Dean of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, and the facilitator, Dr A.H.M. Mawjood, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine. The visit entailed a discussion regarding possible future collaboration and the creation of a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of promoting and propagating Sri Lankan Ayurveda in Japan.
