Best Poster Presentation Award at the American Chemical Society (ACS) Publications Symposium
Ms Nimshi Fernando from the Materials research group at the Department of Physics won the Best Poster presentation award at the “American Chemical Society (ACS) Publications Symposium: Innovations in Materials Science and Technology”, Singapore 2019 for the poster titled “Desorption kinetics of Urea from morphologically different Nano Hydroxyapatite thin films”. It was a poster only symposium with participants from 26 countries, including from the US and Europe. Ms Nimshi is the 1st author and the presenter of the poster which also included Mr Dhanusha Rathnayake, a fourth-year undergrad student, who did the theoretical fittings. This research was supervised by Dr Dilushan Jayasundara and was funded by NRC grant 15-004.
