University of Colombo Ranked Among the Top 300 Universities Globally in UI GreenMetric 2026
The 17th edition of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2026 has been released, recognising universities worldwide for their commitment to sustainability and the development of greener, more sustainable campuses. This year’s theme, “Advancing Sustainable Campuses through Governance, Digitalisation, and Integrated Performance“, highlights the growing importance of integrating sustainability into university governance, operations, education and institutional development.
The University of Colombo has achieved an impressive 276th position globally and secured 3rd place in Sri Lanka, among the 17 Sri Lankan universities. This achievement reflects the University of Colombo’s continued commitment to sustainable campus development, environmental responsibility, effective governance, digital transformation, and creating a positive impact for future generations.
