Delegation from Tribhuvan University, Nepal Visits University of Colombo
A delegation from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, visited the University of Colombo on 4th August 2026. Founded in 1959, Tribhuvan University is Nepal’s oldest and largest higher education institution. The delegation comprised Associate Professor Mothikala Subha Dewan, Associate Professor Shiv Ram Pandey, Mr Chiranjibi Dhakal, and Mr Guru Prasad Poudel.
The delegation was received by Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, and Dr Iroja Caldera, Director of the International Office, for discussions on strengthening ties between the two universities. The delegation later met Professor Sampath Punchihewa, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and discussed potential collaboration between the two law faculties. Discussions between the two universities centred on potential avenues for cooperation, including joint research initiatives, conference organisation and closer academic collaboration.
