Three Undergraduates Selected for AUA Asia Deep Dive Program 2026

Three undergraduates from the Faculties of Arts, Medicine, and Indigenous Medicine have been selected by the Asian Universities Alliance (AUA) for the AUA Asia Deep Dive Program 2026. The selected undergraduates are Ms P M Sanjana Nethmini Pathiraja (Faculty of Arts), Ms Tharushi H A Kasturige (Faculty of Medicine), and Ms W A Mahisha Sathsarani (Faculty of Indigenous Medicine).
The opportunity is funded by the AUA and was facilitated through the International Office. This short-term program, held under the theme of ‘Enchanted Natural and Cultural Diversity in Indonesia’, comprises an online component and an on-site component hosted by Universitas Indonesia. It provides an opportunity for young leaders from across Asia to explore earth sciences, biodiversity, culture and disaster mitigation.
Ahead of their departure, the students paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, on 5 August 2026, and also met with the Director of the International Office (IOUC), Dr Iroja Caldera and Senior Assistant Registrar/IOUC, Mr S M Shifar. The Vice Chancellor congratulated the students on their selection to the program and wished them a fruitful and enriching experience.
