
CoMSAA Visits Rural Health Centre in Kataragama to Discuss Development Initiatives
Members of the Colombo Medical School Alumni Association (CoMSAA) of the Faculty of Medicine paid a visit on 31 January 2026 to the Rural Health Centre in Kataragama to discuss the future development of the centre and to identify areas where institutional and professional support could be extended to develop the Rural Health Centre and strengthen primary healthcare services in the region.
The visit focused on assessing existing infrastructure, service capacity, and community health needs, with a view to exploring sustainable development initiatives through collaboration between the University, its alumni, and local health authorities. The visit took place under the patronage of the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, with the participation of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Vidya Jothi Vajira H. W. Dissanayake, President of CoMSAA, Dr Narendra Pinto, and Director of the Centre, Dr Asela Anthony, members of the CoMSAA Executive Committee and Alumni of the Batch of 1974.
