Delegation from Central China Normal University Focuses on Strengthening Bilateral Collaboration

A delegation from Central China Normal University (CCNU), China, visited the University of Colombo on 20 January 2026. The team was led by Professor Peng Shuangjie, President of CCNU, and included Professor Yang Guangfu, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Green Pesticides, Mr Qiu Baoguo, Administrative Dean of the College of Chemistry, Mr Hong Feng, Director of the Department of Global Engagement, and Ms Liu Fang, Program Manager of the Department of Global Engagement.
During the visit, comprehensive discussions were held with Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice-Chancellor of the University, focusing on strengthening bilateral collaboration between the two universities. Key areas proposed for cooperation included establishing joint laboratories, offering postgraduate study opportunities, facilitating academic staff mobility, and conducting joint research projects. Dr Iroja Caldera, Director of the International Office, also participated in the discussions.
