Workshop on File Management Enhances Skills for Administrative and Non-Academic Staff – HRDC
The Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) conducted a workshop on File Management on 24th March 2025, aimed at enhancing the practical skills of administrative and non-academic staff. The session was held at the Faculty of Graduate Studies from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The resource person for the workshop was Mr Lal de Silva, Former Acting Registrar of the University of Colombo, who shared valuable insights into efficient file handling, documentation, and record management practices within public institutions.
The workshop was attended by over 130 participants, including staff members from the University of Colombo as well as representatives from external institutions. The session provided comprehensive guidance on classification systems, filing procedures, and organizational best practices essential for improving workplace productivity.
Participants actively engaged in discussions and appreciated the practical relevance of the content. The event marked another significant step in HRDC’s ongoing mission to build institutional capacity and promote professional development across the higher education sector and beyond.
