Emeritus Professor Deepal W. Mathew

Professor Deepal Mathew educated at Nalanda Vidyalaya Colombo and obtained a B.Sc. Special degree in Botany from the University of Kelaniya in 1977.

He has been attached to Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine since 1978. Takes part in popularization of science activities of SLAAS from 1994 and is coordinating the nature diaries program from 2000.

His research interests include Alpha Galactosidase production, characterization and immobilization, Organophosphate toxicity, Amylase production and chemical modification, Production of thermostable enzymes, Solid phase assays in clinical chemistry and Efficacy of ayurvedic drugs.
